The diagram below shows how a solar-powered water pump works.
The illustration shows the process of the way in which the water pump operates based on the power of the Sun. Overall, there are two stages in the process from the absorption of solar energy to the usage of water in the tank.
First of all, solar energy is taken from the sunlight in the daytime through a solar panel. The panel consists of a significant number of photovoltaic cells arranged in lines and in order. The aim of the cells is to convert optical energy to electric energy by the photovoltaic effect. After that, the total of DC electric energy in all of the cells is transmitted to the pump located between water level and underground bore or well.
Before storage and distribution, the electric currents from the panel activate the bore pump which is embedded in an amount of underground water. Once the pump is run, the water will be transported from the well to the water tank placed above the ground level. Finally, the water in the tank may be used for residents in the village or distributed to another place.
