The graph below shows in percentage terms the changing patterns of domestic access to modern technology in homes in the U.K.
Sample 1: From Mr. Hieu (my teacher)
The line chart illustrates the changing schemes of using four advanced gadgets in UK households. Overall, there was a variety of changes over the period from 1994 to 2008.
CD player and Mobile phone accounted for a considerable percentage of methods accessing to contemporary technology. CD player overwhelmingly dominated from approximately 50% in 1994 and nearly 90% in 2008. Similarly, mobile phone went through some unstable rises but finally reached the peak at around 80%. The scheme also showed that both of them remained unchanged afterwards.
The two younger patterns of Internet connection and DVD players shared the similar trend. At late 20th century, Internet access came to life at about 10%, and then it increased steadily to over 60% after one decade. DVD player was the latest technology when it appeared in 2002 at roughly 30%. However, a period of 6 years witnessed a sudden soar to a triple amount of over 90%.
Sample 2: From me
The line graph gives information about the variation of the uses of CD player, DVD player, mobile phone and internet in the UK from 1994 to 2008. It is clear that the percentages of access to these electronic items experienced a remarkable increase during 14 years.
In 1994, over half of homes had a CD player. There was a steady growth in the use of CD players in homes until 2004. The latter witnessed a little change in the percentage of around 90 percent for 4 years. From 1996, the amount of electronic items with mobile phones also rose moderately over time from around 20 percent and stood roughly at 80 percent in 2004. The percentage of access to mobile phones remained constants after that.
From the 2002 study, there was a dramatic rise in the watching videos by DVD players instead of CD ones in families during the 6-year period. Particularly, the DVD-player percentage reached around 90 percent in 2008 compared with 30 percent in 2002. Finally, just over 10-percent homes were connected to the internet in 1998. There was a significant growth in the internet connection with the value of above 70 percent in 2008.
