It is better for children to grow up in the countryside than in a big city

Some people think that it is better for their children to grow up in big cities due to the improvements in living conditions. However, there are people who support the idea that children should be nurtured in the countryside. Both city life and country life have different advantages and disadvantages to a child’s growth due to the different of each living environment.
It is clearly to be seen that big and developed cities creates better living conditions for parents to raise their children. Because of the development of technology and economy, the infrastructure in the cities is much better than in the countryside thanks to the investment of the Government as well as enterprises. Children in the city have better living conditions than the country kids, they can live in bigger houses, learn in larger schools using modern facilities and have much better healthcare services. Also, they have more chances to learn and practice sports and art subjects such as painting, dance sport… to nurture their talents as well as more choices of entertainment: modern technology devices, game centers, large and fancy fast food franchises... In addition, the city children get more opportunities to learn and improve their soft-skills, such as teamwork skills, presentation skills, communication skills… which are important to their future career.
On the other hand, living in the countryside also has some positive effects on a child’s growth. Unlike noisy crowed cities, the countryside offers a more peaceful life with no traffic jam, no noise pollution, no air pollution…, children could grow up in the fresh air of rice paddy field and gardens. Although life in the countryside is much harder than in the city, since most of the people there  depends on the income from agriculture, the children still learn from it how to deal with difficulties in life as well as working hard and respecting the money they made. Since they don’t have many entertainment options like the city kids, children from the countryside could focus on learning, plus, they still have many traditional games to relax after school which the kids in the city may not know.
In conclusion, no matter where the parents choose to live and raise the children, each place will bring about positive effects to their kids in different ways. It is crucial to choose the suitable environment to nurture children. However, it is not the only element in raising children. Better or worse, it depends on how they want their children to grow up, who they want their children become.
